Who are the Temporary Foreign Workers in Wood Buffalo Region?
They are the workers who come temporarily to Canada under a general program or as part of a sector-specific program. Visas differ with respect to requirements for employers and employees, duration, and eligibility for permanent residency. This sector is covered by Temporary Foreign Workers, Live-in Caregivers, and Seasonal Agricultural Workers. Wood Buffalo Region receives Temporary Foreign Workers in different positions from highly qualified professionals to low skilled workers and as well Live-in Caregivers.

Purpose of TFW Forum:
· Create community awareness of TFW issues in Fort McMurray
· Inform employers and TFWs about AINP
· Educate TFWs an Live-in Caregivers about their rights and responsibilities as workers in Alberta
· Make TFWs an Live-in Caregivers aware of community resources
· Recognize and appreciate TFWs an Live-in Caregivers as being important part of our community.
